61st NSW Seniors Festival, an annual 2 week event all across new south Wales, to acknowledge the contribution of Seniors to the community was held in International Convention Centre, Sydney recently.

Through this festival NSW Government thanks all seniors and encourages them to continue to remain active, stay socially connected and try new lifestyle experiences. The exhibition aims to combat negative perceptions of ageing and older people and this year featured 30 inspiring images, including a war veteran, an Aboriginal mentor, a proud L-plater, sports enthusiasts, artists and refugees. Heading into its second year of touring, this festival included the Art of Ageing exhibition which continued to smash ageist stereotypes across NSW. 25 sites are hosting 2019’s exhibition, which highlights the diversity and contributions of older people, and that the ‘third age’ can be a time of intense richness and satisfaction.

This years theme was ‘LOVE YOUR LIFE’… about celebrating their love for life, their energy, experience and unique ability to know what inspires them, and what makes them HAPPY.
